Inspired by a totally cute video that was posted on here..
How do I lace myself in? I'm totally reliant on some to do it for me and it freaks me out! Any handy tips? Does lacing the corset up in a particular way make it easier when you have to do it on your own?

Hello hello :) Quick question: Have any of you tried Unicure's hair products? They are -cone free and seem to be bare of any commercial chemicals commonly found in hair prodcuts.
I use their conditioner, which is completely grease-free. I could dump the entire bottle on my head and not have one greasy, clumpy section.

Now, this one TOTALLY breaks my heart, because it still fits me perfectly and is beautiful to the point of super beauty, but unfortunately times are tough right now, and food, gasoline and rent are more important than pretty clothes for the new little family of myself and boyfriend. So, I figured I'd check on the interest and see what's up.
This is a 29" standard-sized overbust longline corset by Electra Designs made of raspberry dupioni, black devore overlay and black ribbon accents and laces. The exact measurements I do not have at present (but can get for serious inquiries and will update the post later), but the waist completely closed is 29" (with the recommended 2" gap, it's 31"). The ribbon and devore overlay are only on the front.
This is a VERY well-made item, and when Alexis starts taking orders again and I have more expendible moolah, I will order again- you will NOT be let down.

I found these georgeous cases and couldn't wait to use them. The cake's are orange flavoured with orange rind buttercream icing. I was going for a more retro look and they came out pretty much what I'd imagined so I am happy with them. Made them for my mums birthday party tonight.
This was my first shot at making royal icing flowers. They turned out nothing like the illustration's in my book but apparently they are cute. Anyway...onto the pictures.
Also made some chilli chocolate + strawberries and cream cakes the other day.

Now, as my completely victorian era costume is not yet finished, I decided to wear a blend of the ren period clothing and steampunk in the Gathering Of The Gargoyles costume contest ( I came in first place for original characters!)

I present for your viewing pleasure, the Von Borg Industries Sonic Sledgehammer.
A very strange man and his assistant visited my Castle on a mission of some arcane import. I got caught up in his adventure and met some very strange creatures indeed. He had a device that was extremely versatile and powerful, so I asked to have a look at it and while doing so copied its layout and devined it's functions. However this Doctor, who was in a rush wanted his little tool back post haste. I thought to myself "it's all well and good to have an enhanced Screwdriver (why anyone would look at a screwdriver and think "Sonic, Yes it needs to be more sonic." is beyond me), but why limit your possibilities." So was born the Von Borg Sonic Sledgehammer.
P.S. the end lights up blue and makes an annoying noise. |

Hello, all. I just made myself a brand spankin' new LJ account, specifically for my infatuation with Steampunk and the like <3 *bows* I only wish the character limit were more than 15, so I could use my real name, TheHighFlyingSkyPirate. It's saddening, haha =P

Not the best for Steampunk, but if you need some pants, can't find any suitable ones, and only have 20 bucks, I'd get these! Plus, I'm a whore for flare pants (the other ones were just ridiculous for Steampunk, though, so I didn't bother linking XD). They look like they may flare a bit, yay :]
